2021–22 Danish 1st Division (men's Handball)
The 2021–22 Danish 1st Division (known as the NordicBet Liga due to sponsorship by NordicBet) marked the 26th season of the league operating as the second tier of Danish football and the 82nd season overall under the 1st Division name. The league is governed by the Danish Football Association (DBU). Participants Lyngby Boldklub and AC Horsens finished the 2020–21 season of the Superliga in 11th and 12th place, respectively, and were relegated to the 1st Division. They replaced Viborg FF and Silkeborg IF, who were promoted to the 2021–22 Danish Superliga. Nykøbing FC and Jammerbugt FC won promotion from the 2020–21 Danish 2nd Divisions. Alliance Club Horsens (), commonly referred to as AC Horsens () or simply Horsens, is a Danish professional football club based in Horsens, Central Denmark Region. Silkeborg Idrætsforening, (; commonly known as Silkeborg IF or SIF in short) is a professional football club based in Silkeborg, Denmark. The club was founded in 1917, reached the highest level of Danish football in 1987, and afterwards became one of the most successful football clubs in Denmark. Blue Water Arena
The Esbjerg Stadium (), known as the Blue Water Arena for sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium located within Esbjerg Idrætspark in Esbjerg, Denmark. It is the home ground of Esbjerg fB and has a capacity of 16,942, of which 11,451 is seated. It is currently the second-biggest stadium in Jutland, and the fourth-biggest in Denmark. History The Esbjerg Idrætspark was founded in 1926 and the football pitch, with a running track and area for shot put, high jump, pole vault and long jump, opened on 22 September 1929. In 1948, the adjacent Esbjerg Atletikstadion was constructed and opened. During 1951, the reconstruction of the football stadium began but the municipality ran out of funds and the project stopped.
