2021–22 Clemson Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Clemson Tigers men's basketball team represented Clemson University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers were led by twelfth-year head coach Brad Brownell and played their home games at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, South Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Tigers finished the season 17–16 overall and 8–12 in ACC play to finish in tenth place. As the tenth seed in the ACC tournament, they defeated fifteenth seed NC State in the first round before losing to seventh seed, and eventual champions Virginia Tech in the second round. They were not invited to the NCAA tournament or the NIT. Previous season The Tigers finished the 2020–21 season 16–8, 10–6 in ACC play to finish in a tie for fifth place. Brad Brownell
Bradley Robert Brownell (born November 15, 1968) is an American college basketball coach at Clemson University. Prior to coming to Clemson, he held the same position at Wright State and UNC Wilmington. Early life Born in Evansville, Indiana, Brownell played high school basketball at William Henry Harrison High School with former Indiana University player and current Director of Player Development Calbert Cheaney. Brownell graduated from DePauw University in 1991, where he was a member of the basketball team and the Sigma Chi fraternity. His junior year, Brownell helped lead the Tigers to the NCAA Division III National Championship game, where he missed a shot to win the title. He immediately went into coaching after graduating. 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2021 ACC men's basketball tournament (officially the 2021 ACC Men's Basketball Tournament Presented by New York Life) was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Atlantic Coast Conference and held at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, from March 9 to 13, 2021. It was the 68th annual edition of the tournament. The 2021 Atlantic Coast Conference basketball tournament was originally scheduled to be hosted at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. However, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved to the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 24, 2020. Capital One Arena will host the tournament in 2024. Virginia and Duke elected to withdraw from the tournament due to some of their players testing positive for COVID-19. John Newman III
John Edward Newman III (born August 2, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Kortrijk Spurs of the BNXT League. He previously played for the Cincinnati Bearcats. Early life and high school career Newman attended Greensboro Day School. He helped the team win three state titles, scoring 24 points and was named MVP of the NCISAA 3A State Championship game. As a senior, Newman averaged 14.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Olivier-Maxence Prosper ( ; born July 3, 2002) is a Canadian professional basketball player for the Dallas Mavericks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Charlotte 49ers men's basketball team represents the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte) in NCAA Division I basketball.
