2021–22 Central Arkansas Bears Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Central Arkansas Bears basketball team represented the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) in the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bears, led by second-year head coach Anthony Boone, played their home games at the on-campus Farris Center in Conway, Arkansas. This was the Bears' first season as members of the West Division of the ASUN Conference. The Bears finished the season 11–20, 7–9 in ASUN play, to finish in third place in the West Division. In the ASUN tournament, they defeated Stetson in the first round before losing to Jacksonville in the quarterfinals. Previous season The Bears finished the 2020–21 season 5–19, 4–12 in Southland Conference play, to finish in twelfth place. They failed to qualify for the Southland Conference tournament. Anthony Boone (basketball)
Anthony Lynn Boone (born June 14, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Hendrix Warriors men's basketball team. He was previously the head coach of the Central Arkansas Bears men's basketball team from 2019 to 2024. Playing career Boone played college basketball at Ole Miss, where he was a 1995 SEC All-Rookie selection. His career was hampered by injuries, but during his senior season he was nominated for the Chip Hilton Player of the Year Award, and was inducted into the Ole Miss Hall of Fame as well as having his number 41 jersey retired. At the time, Boone's jersey joined Archie Manning as the only two jerseys retired in Ole Miss history. Coaching career After graduation, Boone stayed on with Ole Miss under Rod Barnes as a graduate assistant before moving on to Murray State as an assistant coach under Tevester Anderson for three seasons. 2021–22 Saint Louis Billikens Men's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Saint Louis Billikens men's basketball team represented Saint Louis University during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Their head coach is Travis Ford in his sixth season at Saint Louis. The team played their home games at Chaifetz Arena as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 12–6 in A-10 Play to finish in fifth place. They defeated La Salle and St. Bonaventure to advance to the semifinals of the A-10 tournament where they lost to Davidson. They received an at-large bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they lost in the first round to Northern Iowa.
