Carlisle United F
Carlisle ( , ; from ) is a city in the Cumberland district of Cumbria, England. Carlisle's early history is marked by the establishment of a settlement called Luguvalium to serve forts along Hadrian's Wall in Roman Britain. Due to its proximity to Scotland (being located south of the current Anglo-Scottish border), Carlisle Castle and the city became an important military stronghold in the Middle Ages. The castle served as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots in 1568 and currently hosts the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment and the Border Regiment Museum. A priory was built in the early 12th century, which subsequently became Carlisle Cathedral in 1133 on the creation of the Diocese of Carlisle. George Tanner (born 16 November 1999) is an English professional footballer who plays for club Bristol City as a full-back. Career Manchester United Initially a forward, Tanner made seven appearances for Manchester United's under-18 team in 2015–16, and joined the club as an academy scholar in July 2016. After joining the club, he found himself used more as a full-back, and made 27 appearances from left-back in 2016–17. Brennan Peter Dickenson (born 26 February 1993) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Queen of the South. Dickenson's career began at Southampton before moving on to Conference South side Dorchester Town. He earned a move to Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion in 2012. Zach Paul John Clough (born 8 March 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or striker for Adelaide United. Clough started his career at Bolton Wanderers, having played for them since the age of eight. Jamie Martin Devitt (born 6 July 1990) is an Irish former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. He is the Professional Development Phase Coach at Carlisle United. Callum Anthony Guy (born 25 November 1996) is an English professional footballer who last played as a midfielder for club Carlisle United.
