2021–22 Arizona Wildcats Women's Basketball Team
The 2021–22 Arizona Wildcats women's basketball team represented the University of Arizona during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats were led by sixth-year head coach Adia Barnes. This was the Wildcats' 48th season at the on-campus McKale Center in Tucson, Arizona and 43rd season as a member of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished with a record of 21–8, 10–6 in Pac-12 play. The Wildcats were invited to the 2022 NCAA tournament where they defeated UNLV in the First Round before losing to North Carolina in the Second Round. Previous season The Wildcats finished the season second behind Stanford in the Pacific-12 conference with a 13–4 record. Adia Barnes
Adia Oshun Barnes (born February 3, 1977) is an American basketball coach and former player. She is currently the head coach of the SMU Mustangs. She played at the collegiate level for the University of Arizona, and played seven seasons in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) with the Houston Comets, Seattle Storm, Minnesota Lynx, and Sacramento Monarchs. She has played internationally with Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine. Barnes has also served as a TV color analyst for Seattle Storm game broadcasts. Early years Barnes grew up in San Diego, California, and attended Mission Bay Senior High School in San Diego. She is the daughter of NFL player Pete Barnes. He and Adia's mother divorced when she was three. 2020–21 UConn Huskies Women's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 UConn Huskies women's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut (UConn) during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Huskies, led by Hall of Fame head coach Geno Auriemma in his 36th season at UConn, split their home games between Harry A. Gampel Pavilion and the XL Center and were members of the Big East Conference, which they joined for women's basketball that season. UConn was previously a member of the original Big East Conference from 1979 through 2013, and one of the original women's basketball teams of that league in 1982. The Vanderbilt Commodores women's basketball team represents Vanderbilt University in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).
