2021–22 ASUN Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2021–22 ASUN Conference men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 9, 2021, and began conference play on January 4, 2022. The regular season ended on February 26, 2022, followed by the 2022 ASUN men's basketball tournament held March 1–8, 2022. The conference's regular season champions, the 2021–22 Jacksonville State Gamecocks men's basketball team, Jacksonville State Gamecocks, were awarded the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The conference tournament was won by the 2021–22 Bellarmine Knights men's basketball team, Bellarmine Knights, who were ineligible for the NCAA tournament due to their transitional status moving from NCAA Division II to NCAA Division I. The NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represents North Carolina State University in NCAA Division I men's basketball competition. NC State is one of the seven founding members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Wyoming Cowboys Basketball
The University of Wyoming men's basketball program, which competes in the Mountain West Conference, with the schools first recorded game dating back to 1905. Tony Pujol
Antonio Javier Pujol (born July 20, 1967) is a Cuban American college basketball coach, and the current head coach of the North Alabama Lions men's basketball team. Playing career Pujol played both basketball and baseball at Sterling College in Kansas, where he earned all-conference honors in baseball three straight seasons. Coaching career Pujol's coaching career began in 1992 when he became the head boys basketball coach at La Progresiva Presbyterian HS in Miami, Florida. In 1995, Pujol accepted the head boys basketball coaching position at Northwest Christian Academy in Miami, where he stayed for 13 seasons and posted a 250-46 record, while winning state titles in 1999, 2003 and 2004. Lennie Acuff (born January 24, 1965) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's basketball coach at Samford University. Playing career Acuff attended Shorter College where he set the single game, single season and career record for assists, which still stand to this day. Coaching career At 25, Acuff landed his first head coaching job with Belhaven College where he posted a 31–35 record over two seasons. He then moved on to Berry College where he'd compile a 65–64 overall record with back-to-back 20-win seasons in his final two seasons. Ritchie Lawrence McKay (born April 22, 1965) is an American basketball coach who is in his second stint as the head coach of the Liberty Flames basketball, Liberty Flames of Liberty University. Amir Abdur-Rahim (March 18, 1981 – October 24, 2024) was an American basketball coach and player who was the head coach of the South Florida Bulls men's basketball team. Lilburn Ray Harper Jr. (born October 11, 1961) is an American college basketball coach, currently head coach for Jacksonville State University. Previously, he was head coach at Oklahoma City University, Kentucky Wesleyan College, and Western Kentucky University. At Kentucky Wesleyan Harper compiled a 242–45 win–loss record. He has been named the Division II National Coach of the Year seven times and won two national titles at Kentucky Wesleyan in 1999 and 2001.
