2021 Women's South American Volleyball Championship
The 2021 Women's South American Volleyball Championship was the 34th edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Championship held in Barrancabermeja, Colombia and organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). The champion and first runner-ups will qualify for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Gabriela Guimarães
Gabriela Braga Guimarães (; born 19 May 1994), also known by her nickname Gabi, is a Brazilian professional indoor volleyball player. She plays as an outside hitter. She competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2024 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal in Tokyo and a bronze medal in Paris. Career Guimarães practiced swimming, tennis, and football in Belo Horizonte, before starting volleyball at the age of 14. She joined the volleyball team at Colégio Pitágoras to be close to her friends, and since the school had a partnership with the Minas Tênis Clube, she tried to join their team. However, she was rejected for being considered too short. She then moved to Mackenzie Esporte Clube, where her aunt had previously won a volleyball championship. Coach Delicélio Rodrigues gave her an opportunity. South American Men's Volleyball Championship
The Men's South American Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of South America, organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol ( CSV). The initial gap between championships was variable, but since 1967 they have been awarded every two years. The competition has been dominated by Brazil, which won 33 of the 35 editions. The first tournament not won by Brazil was the 1964 championship, when the team did not compete due to political turmoil in the country, and the tournament was won by Argentina. Recently, in the 2023 edition, Argentina won their second title, ending Brazil's dominance since 1967. The Women's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a continental cup organized by NORCECA with teams from all over America ( North-, South- and Central America, and the Caribbean), that served as a qualifier for the World Grand Prix. The Men's Pan-American Volleyball Cup is a men's volleyball tournament organized by NORCECA. Initially, only NORCECA teams participated, but CSV teams have been invited since 2010. The event served as a qualifier for FIVB Volleyball World League, World League and the America Cup of Volleyball, America's Cup. Now, the event serves as an America qualifier for the Pan American Games classification.
