2021 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Soccer Team
The 2021 North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill during the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the 75th season of the university fielding a program. The Tar Heels were led by eleventh year head coach Carlos Somoano and played their home games at Dorrance Field. The Tar Heels finished the season 11–7–2 overall and 4–4–0 in ACC play to finish in fourth place in the Coastal Division. As the seventh overall seed in the ACC Tournament, they defeated Syracuse in the First Round, before losing to Clemson in the Quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. As an unseeded team, they defeated Loyola (MD) via penalty shoot-out in the First Round before losing to sixth seeded New Hampshire in the Second Round. Carlos Somoano
Carlos Somoano is an American soccer coach, and is currently the head coach of the University of North Carolina North Carolina Tar Heels men's soccer, men's soccer team. In his first season in charge of the Tar Heels, he led the team to the NCAA championship, becoming the second rookie head coach, after Mike Freitag, in NCAA history to do so. Education Somoano received a Bachelor of Science in biology (concentration in pre-medicine) from Eckerd College in 1992. He also earned four letters in soccer and was a two-year team captain. In 2000, he earned a Master's in Sport Management degree from the University of Richmond. 2020 Charlotte 49ers Men's Soccer Team
The Charlotte 49ers men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As of the upcoming 2022 season, the team is a member of the NCAA Division I American Athletic Conference (The American). The team plays their home games at Transamerica Field in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Louisville Cardinals men's soccer team represents the University of Louisville in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. The team presently competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team currently plays in the soccer-specific Lynn Stadium on the campus. Giovanni Montesdeoca (born March 28, 1998) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward. Career Youth Montesdeoca joined the FC Dallas academy in 2014, where he played until 2016. Mark Salas (born July 30, 1999) is an American soccer player. Playing career Youth Salas joined the FC Dallas academy in 2005, when he was just six-years old. Matthew Constant (born August 17, 1998) is a Canadian- American soccer player. Career Youth Constant spent 7 years as part of the Dallas Texans USSDA academy side. College & amateur Constant played college soccer at the University of New Mexico for two seasons in 2016 and 2017. He made 38 appearances, scoring one goal for the Lobos. 2021 MLS SuperDraft
The 2021 MLS SuperDraft was the 22nd edition of the SuperDraft conducted by Major League Soccer. The SuperDraft is held every January prior to the start of the MLS season. The 2020 SuperDraft was the first held exclusively via conference call and web streaming.
