2021 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Season
The 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was the 63rd season of NCAA championship men's college soccer. After the 2020 NCAA Division I men's soccer season was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 season partially returned to normal. However, despite the development of several vaccines, the pandemic was still ongoing, which might have led to various local or regional disruptions. Also, many conferences did not fully return to their pre-COVID state, with several having changed postseason tournament formats. The season began on August 27, 2021, and concluded on November 14. The season culminates with the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, which was held from November 17 to December 12, with the four-team College Cup at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. Kyle Beckerman
Kyle Robert Beckerman (born April 23, 1982) is an American former professional soccer player who played as a midfielder. He spent 21 seasons in Major League Soccer (MLS) with the Miami Fusion (2000–2001), Colorado Rapids (2002–2007) and Real Salt Lake (2007–2020). He was a starting central defensive midfielder and captain when RSL won MLS Cup 2009. He also earned 58 caps with the United States national team. Brian Plotkin (born August 3, 1984, in Lisle, Illinois) is the head coach of the Army Black Knights men's soccer team and is a retired professional soccer player. Career College and amateur Brian Plotkin played college soccer for Indiana University from 2002 to 2005, featuring in 90 games and accumulating 24 goals and 36 assists. He was a member of National Championship winning teams in 2003 and 2004. Russell Payne (born July 13, 1975, in Columbia, Maryland) is an American soccer coach and former player. Payne is a former goalkeeper who is currently the head coach of the Northwestern Wildcats men's soccer team. He played professionally in Germany, Ireland and Major League Soccer. Player Youth Payne graduated from Glenelg High School where he was a 1992 Second Team All-Met Boys' Soccer Goalkeeper.
