2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier
The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was played in Botswana in September 2021. The matches were played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Botswana, Cameroon and Eswatini made their debut at an ICC women's event. Malawi were originally named as a participants in the tournament, but they were replaced by Eswatini. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in October 2021, but was brought forward to ease fixture congestion. In July 2021, the dates for the Africa Qualifier were confirmed. The fixtures were reshuffled shortly before the tournament, following a member of the Cameroon squad recording a positive COVID-19 test. Africa Cricket Association
The Africa Cricket Association (ACA) is an international body which coordinates the development of Cricket in Africa. The ACA was founded in 1997. It is subordinate to the International Cricket Council, the council is the continent's regional administrative body, and currently has 23 member associations. The role of the ACA includes promoting the development of cricket in Africa and organising some regional tournaments. These have included the ACA Africa T20 Cup and the Africa Women's Twenty20 Championship. Sarah Uwera
Sarah Uwera (born 1 January 1996) is a Rwandan cricketer and a former captain of the Rwanda women's cricket team. Uwera first began to play cricket in 2012, and also played for Rwanda's under-19 team. In January 2019, Uwera was named in Rwanda's squad for their first ever Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) matches, against Nigeria. Uwera made her WT20I debut on 26 January 2019, for Rwanda against Nigeria at the National Stadium in Abuja, but only scored three runs. Henriette Therese Ishimwe (born 14 October 2003) is a Rwandan cricketing all-rounder who plays for the women's national cricket team as a right-arm medium pace bowler and right handed batter. Gisele Ishimwe (born 9 September 2004) is a Rwandan cricketer who plays for the women's national cricket team as an all-rounder. A right-arm medium pace bowler and right handed batter, Ishimwe scored a Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) century for the national team in September 2021. Yasmeen Khan (born 7 January 1999) is a Namibian cricketer and a former captain of the women's national cricket team. Currently the vice captain, she plays as a right-handed batter, right-arm medium pace bowler, and occasional wicket-keeper. Early life Khan was born in George, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. She and her parents moved to Namibia when she was less than a year old, and she was raised in Windhoek.
