2021 Africa Cup Of Nations
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (also referred to as AFCON 2021 or CAN 2021), known as the TotalEnergies 2021 Africa Cup of Nations for sponsorship reasons, was the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial international men's association football, football championship of Africa organised by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was hosted by Cameroon, and took place from 9 January to 6 February 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in June and July 2021. However, the CAF announced on 15 January 2020 that due to unfavourable climatic conditions during that period, the tournament had been rescheduled to be played between 9 January and 6 February 2021. Vincent Aboubakar
Vincent Paté Aboubakar (born 22 January 1992) is a Cameroonian professional footballer who most recently played as a striker for Süper Lig club Hatayspor and captains the Cameroon national team. Aboubakar began his career at Coton Sport and moved to Europe in 2010, playing for Ligue 1 clubs Valenciennes and Lorient, totalling 109 appearances and 26 goals in France's top division. In 2015, he signed for Porto, where he played 125 games and scored 58 goals, winning a Primeira Liga title. He won the Turkish Süper Lig while on loan at Beşiktaş in 2017, and again in 2021. The 2020 Women's Africa Cup of Nations, officially known as the 2020 Total Women's Africa Cup Of Nations for sponsorship purposes, was supposed to be the 14th edition of the biennial African women's association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This would have been the first edition to feature 12 teams at the group stages of the tournament as opposed to 8 from previous editions. CAF decided to cancel this edition of the tournament on 30 June 2020 at an executive virtual meeting, citing "challenging conditions" caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa and rather approve the creation of the CAF Women's Champions League which began in November the following year. The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matches were organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to decide the participating teams for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, the 33rd edition of the international men's football championship of Africa. The preliminary round of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification tournament decided four teams which advanced to the group stage of the qualification tournament.
