2020–21 West Virginia Mountaineers Women's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 West Virginia Mountaineers women's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Mountaineers were coached by twentieth-year head coach Mike Carey, played their home games at WVU Coliseum and were members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 22–7, 13–5 in Big 12 play to finish in a tie for second place. As the second seed in the Big 12 Tournament, they defeated Kansas State and Oklahoma State before losing to Baylor in the Final. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament. As the four seed in the HemisFair Regional they defeated before losing to Georgia Tech in the Second Round to end their season. Mike Carey (basketball)
Michael Alan Carey (born July 4, 1958) is the former head coach of the West Virginia University women's basketball team. He had previously served as head basketball coach for the Salem International University men's basketball team. Carey played basketball for Salem International University, earning a letter in each of his four years at the school. In his freshman year, he was named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference freshman of the year, an honor his son would win in 2006. The Mississippi State Bulldogs women's basketball program represents Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi, in women's NCAA Division I basketball. The Bulldogs play in the Southeastern Conference. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women's basketball team is the college basketball program representing the Georgia Institute of Technology in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) of NCAA Division I. John McEachern High School or McEachern High School is a public high school established in 1933 in Powder Springs, Georgia, United States.
