2020–21 UConn Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 UConn Huskies men's basketball team represented the University of Connecticut in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies were led by third-year head coach Dan Hurley in their first season of the Big East Conference. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, COVID-19 pandemic, the Huskies played all of their home games this year at Harry A. Gampel Pavilion on the UConn campus in Storrs, Connecticut. The Huskies returned to the new Big East Conference, Big East for the 2020–21 season following seven years in the American Athletic Conference. Dan Hurley
Daniel S. Hurley (born January 16, 1973) is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach of the UConn Huskies. In 2023 and 2024, Hurley led UConn to back-to-back NCAA Division I national championships. He previously coached at Rhode Island and Wagner. Throughout his career, Hurley has been known for his intensity and enthusiasm. His high level of passion on the sidelines and heated interactions with referees became defining aspects of his coaching style. Early life and education Hurley was born to Hall of Fame high school coach Bob Hurley Sr. and Christine Hurley on January 16, 1973, in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he was raised with his siblings Bobby and Melissa. Adama Sanogo
Adama Sanogo (born 12 February 2002) is a Malian professional basketball player who last played for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). In 2023 he won the national championship with the UConn Huskies and was named the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player. Early life and high school career Sanogo grew up in Bamako, Mali, and first played soccer before switching to basketball in 2014. His uncle, basketball scout Tidiane Dramé, convinced him to start playing basketball. One year later, Sanogo moved to the United States to play for Our Savior New American School in Centereach, New York. Albany Academy
Albany Academy is an independent college preparatory day school in Albany, New York. It enrolls students from Prekindergaten (age 4) to Grade 12. It was established in 1813 by a charter signed by Mayor Philip Schuyler Van Rensselaer and the city council of Albany. Amsterdam () is a city in Montgomery County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 18,219. The city is named after Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
