2020–21 UCF Knights Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 UCF Knights men's basketball team represented the University of Central Florida during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Knights were members of the American Athletic Conference. The Knights, in the program's 52nd season of basketball, are led by fifth-year head coach Johnny Dawkins and played their home games at the Addition Financial Arena on the university's main campus in Orlando, Florida. They finished the season 11–12, 8–10 in AAC Play to finish in 6th place. They defeated East Carolina in the first round of the AAC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Memphis. Previous season The Knights finished the 2019–20 season 16–14 overall and 7–11 in AAC play to finish in eighth place. Johnny Dawkins
Johnny Earl Dawkins Jr. (born September 28, 1963) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the UCF men's basketball team. From 2008 to 2016, he was the head coach of Stanford. He was a two-time All-American and national player of the year as a senior in 1986 while at Duke from 1982 to 1986. Dawkins subsequently played nine seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the San Antonio Spurs (1986–1989), Philadelphia 76ers (1989–1994), and Detroit Pistons (1994–1995). From 1998 to 2008, he served as an assistant basketball coach at his alma mater, Duke. Playing career College Dawkins was born and raised in Washington, D.C. Darius Perry
Darius Perry (born March 13, 1999) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Zastal Zielona Góra in the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He has previously played college basketball for the UCF Knights of the American Athletic Conference (AAC), and the Louisville Cardinals. High school career Perry played basketball for Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Sandy Springs, Georgia as a freshman. For his sophomore season, he transferred to Wheeler High School in Marietta, Georgia, and helped his team capture the Class 6A state title. As a junior, Perry averaged 15 points and 4.3 assists per game. Theodore is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) in Mobile County, Alabama, United States. The population was 6,270 at the 2020 census. Matt Milon
Matthew Richard Milon (born May 26, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for GTK Gliwice of the Polish Basketball League (PLK). He played college basketball for Boston College, William & Mary and UCF. Early life and high school career Milon was born in Gainesville, Florida and raised in Oviedo, Florida. He first began playing basketball in the third grade and his parents enrolled him in area city leagues. Milon attended Oviedo High School, where he was a four-year starter.
