2020–21 Syracuse Orange Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Syracuse Orange men's basketball team represented Syracuse University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Orange were led by 45th-year head coach Jim Boeheim and played their home games at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York as eighth-year members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Orange finished the season 18–10, 9–7 in ACC play, to finish in eight place. In the ACC tournament, they defeated NC State in the second round before losing to Virginia in the Quarterfinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as an eleven seed in the Midwest Region. In the tournament, they defeated six seed San Diego State in the first round and three seed West Virginia in the second round, before losing to two seed Houston in the Sweet Sixteen. Jim Boeheim
James Arthur Boeheim Jr. ( ; born November 17, 1944) is an American former college basketball coach and current Special Assistant to the Athletic Director at Syracuse University. From 1976 until 2023, he was the head coach of the Syracuse Orange men's basketball, Syracuse Orange men's team of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Boeheim guided the Orange to ten Big East Conference regular season championships, five Big East men's basketball tournament, Big East tournament championships, and 34 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament appearances, including five Final Four appearances and three appearances in the national title game. 2019–20 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season began on November 5, 2019. The first tournament was the 2K Sports Classic and the season concluded prematurely on March 12, 2020. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was scheduled to end at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 6, 2020, but was ultimately canceled. All other postseason tournaments were canceled as well. Practices officially began in late September. On March 12, 2020, the NCAA announced that all remaining winter and spring championships for both men's and women's sports were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first cancellation in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament history. The NCAA did not name an official national champion after the tournament was canceled. South Alabama Jaguars Men's Basketball
The South Alabama Jaguars men's the goats basketball program has competed in the Sun Belt Conference since 1978 when the league was formed. Howard Washington Jr. (born March 24, 1998) is an American-Canadian professional basketball player for the Buffalo eXtreme of the American Basketball Association (ABA). The Rhode Island Rams men's basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference.
