2020–21 Michigan Wolverines Women's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team represented the University of Michigan during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wolverines, led by head coach Kim Barnes Arico in her ninth year, played their home games at the Crisler Center. This season marked the program's 39th season as a member of the Big Ten Conference. This season was highlighted by the Wolverines starting the season 10–0, their best start to a season in program history. They also reached No. 11 in the AP Poll, their highest rank ever, and were ranked the No. 6 seed in the 2021 NCAA tournament, their highest seed ever. Kim Barnes Arico
Kimberly Ann Barnes Arico (born August 9, 1970) is an American basketball coach and the current head coach of the Michigan Wolverines women's basketball team. She is the all-time winningest Michigan basketball coach. Previously, she was head coach of the St. John's Red Storm women's basketball team. She was inducted into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame in 2020. Coaching career On May 7, 2002, Barnes Arico was named the head coach at St. John's. She was named the seventh head coach in the then 28-year history of the women's basketball program. She holds the record for most wins at the program and led the Red Storm to their first Sweet Sixteen appearance in the 2012 NCAA tournament. Gilmour Academy is an independent, Catholic, coeducational, college-preparatory day and boarding school in the Cleveland suburb of Gates Mills, Ohio, United States. Founded in 1946 by the Brothers of Holy Cross, Gilmour Academy has three divisions, Lower School, Middle School and Upper School.
