2020–21 Hartford Hawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Hartford Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Hartford in the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Chase Arena at Reich Family Pavilion in West Hartford, Connecticut and were led by 11th-year head coach John Gallagher. They finished the season 15-9, 8-6 in America East Play to finish in 4th place. They defeated Binghamton, Albany, Vermont, and UMass Lowell to be champions the America East tournament. They received the America East’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the first time where they lost in the first round to Baylor. This was their only time making the NCAA Tournament as a D1 school (the school would announce the demotion to D3 just 2 months later, making the move in 2023.) John Gallagher (basketball)
John Michael Gallagher (born May 27, 1977) is the head men's basketball coach at Manhattan College. He previously served as the head coach at the University of Hartford from 2010 until 2022. Career Assistant coach Gallagher started his coaching career working as an assistant at Lafayette College and La Salle University. From 2006 to 2008 Gallagher worked as associate head coach under Dan Leibovitz, helping the Hawks to their first appearance in the 2008 America East men's basketball tournament, America East Championship game in 2008. Hartford lost the game to 2007–08 UMBC Retrievers men's basketball team, UMBC 64–50. Gallagher left Hartford in 2008, and spent two years as an assistant coach under Glen Miller (basketball), Glen Miller with the Penn Quakers men's basketball, Penn Quakers. The 2019–20 Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team represented Stony Brook University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook, New York and were led by first-year head coach Geno Ford, who took over for former head coach Jeff Boals, who left the school to accept the head coaching position at Ohio. They are members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 10–6 in America East play to finish in second place. They defeated Albany in the quarterfinals of the America East tournament before losing in the semifinals to Hartford. Thayer Academy (TA) is a private, co-educational, college-preparatory day school located in Braintree, Massachusetts, United States. Colorado Buffaloes Men's Basketball
The Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team represents the University of Colorado Boulder. The team competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. They are currently coached by Tad Boyle. The Buffaloes have competed in sixteen NCAA Tournaments, most recently appearing in 2024. Colorado made it to the Final Four in 1942 and 1955.
