2020–21 Grand Canyon Antelopes Men's Basketball Team
The 2020–21 Grand Canyon Antelopes men's basketball team represented Grand Canyon University during the 2020–21 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by first-year head coach Bryce Drew and played their home games at GCU Arena in Phoenix, Arizona as members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). They finished the season 17–7, 9–3 in WAC play, to finish in a tie for the regular-season championship. They defeated 2020–21 Seattle Redhawks men's basketball team, Seattle and 2020–21 New Mexico State Aggies men's basketball team, New Mexico State to win the 2021 WAC men's basketball tournament, WAC tournament and received the conference's automatic bid to the 2021 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to 2020–21 Iowa Hawkeyes men's basketball team, Iowa. Bryce Drew
Bryce Homer Drew (born September 21, 1974) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach at Grand Canyon University. Previously, he served as the head coach at Vanderbilt and in the same capacity at his alma mater, Valparaiso, having succeeded his father, Homer Drew. Drew has led his teams to the NCAA tournament on six occasions, including at least once at each of the three schools where he has been the head coach. Bryce's older brother, Scott, also coached at Valpo before becoming the head coach of the Baylor Bears. As a player, Bryce Drew was known for his buzzer-beating shot in the first round of Valparaiso's run in the 1998 NCAA tournament.
