2020 Italian Basketball Cup
The 2020 Italian Basketball Cup, known as the 2020 Zurich Connect Final Eight for sponsorship reasons, was the 44th edition of Italy's national cup tournament. The competition is managed by the Lega Basket for LBA clubs. The tournament was played from 13 to 16 February 2020 in Pesaro, at the end of the first half of the 2019–20 LBA season. Vanoli Cremona were the defending champions. Umana Reyer Venezia went to win its first Cup ever by beating Happy Casa Brindisi 73–67 in the Finals. Italian Basketball Cup
The Italian Basketball Cup (Italian: Coppa Italiana di Pallacanestro), or Coppa Italia, is an annual professional basketball competition between pro clubs from the Italian Basketball League (LBA). It is Italy's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Italy's second-tier cup competition, the Italian Legadue Cup. History and format The first edition of the Italian Cup championship took place in 1968, and was won by Partenope Napoli. Between 1975 and 1983, the cup competition was not held, but it has been held regularly every year from 1984 onward. The formula of the competition has changed over the years. Beginning in 1990, after an elimination phase and subsequent knockout rounds, the tournament ends in a final four format. Vincent Hunter (born August 5, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for Russian club Zenit Saint Petersburg of the VTB United League. He played college basketball for the UTEP Miners. Rai Sport HD is an Italian sports TV channel, launched in 1999 by the state-owned RAI television network. Travis Lyle Diener ( ; born March 1, 1982) is an American-Italian former professional basketball player who last played for Vanoli Cremona in the Italian Lega Basket Serie A (LBA). He also holds Italian citizenship, and has played for the Italian national team at EuroBasket 2013. Career Diener played collegiately at Marquette University, and was a member of the Golden Eagles team that reached the NCAA Tournament Final Four in 2003.
