Sliding Center Sanki
The Sliding Center Sanki (Санки) (a.k.a. the Sanki Sliding Center) is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton (sport), skeleton track located in Rzhanaya Polyana, Russia, 60 km (37 mi) northeast of Sochi. Located in the Western Caucasus. The venue hosted the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton events for the 2014 Winter Olympics. History In 2006, it was announced that Russia would construct two new bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton tracks. (23 November 2006 article accessed 20 February 2008) The first track was located near Moscow bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track, Moscow while the second one would be located in Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi, Krasnodar Krai, Krasnaya Polyana. Sochi was chosen to host the 2014 Winter Olympics over Pyeongchang County, Pyeongchang, South Korea and Salzburg, Austria on 4 July 2007. Felix Loch (; born 24 July 1989) is a German luger and Olympic champion. He has been competing since 1995 and on the German national team since 2006. Alexey Dmitriev (born 24 December 1985) is a Belarusian-born German professional ice hockey player currently playing for the ESC Moskitos Essen of the Oberliga Nord Playing career Dmitriev moved to Germany from Belarus as a 10-year-old with his family. His father Andrey was also a professional ice hockey player and had represented HC Dynamo Minsk in the Soviet Hockey League before the move to the German lower league team Herner EG, where also Alexey Dmitriev later began his career. Tucker West
Tucker West (born June 15, 1995) is an American luger who, at the age of 18, was the youngest male ever to qualify to represent the United States in the men's luge at the Olympics. West placed 22nd in the men's single competition at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Career West attended National Sports Academy High in Lake Placid, New York. Before going away to school he was a resident of Ridgefield, Connecticut. When West was a boy, his father designed and built a wood luge track in the backyard of their Ridgefield home. West attends Union College in Schenectady, New York. Max Langenhan (born 21 February 1999) is a German luger who competes for the BRC 05 Friedrichroda club and German national team. He represented his country at the 2022 Winter Olympics. Career Youth and Junior career Max Langenhan was successful at national level at early years of his career and made his international debut in January 2015 in the Youth A World Cup. In his debut race in Oberhof, he took second place just behind his compatriot German luger Lucas Geyer. Christopher Mazdzer (; born June 26, 1988) is an American retired luger. At the 2018 Winter Olympics, he won the silver medal in the men's single luge, becoming the first non-European medalist in that event. He competed at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, finishing 13th on both occasions.
