2019–20 Paris Saint-Germain FC Season
The 2019–20 season was Paris Saint-Germain Football Club's 47th professional season since its creation in 1970, and its 46th consecutive season in the top-flight of French football. It was their 50th season in existence. On 30 April 2020, Paris Saint-Germain were awarded the championship based on PPG ratio following the early cancellation of the 2019–20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They subsequently claimed both national cups to achieve a domestic treble. Furthermore, the team then qualified for its first-ever Champions League final, hoping to win its first European trophy since 1996. However, they were defeated by Bayern Munich 1–0. Entente Sportive et Athlétique de Linas-Montlhéry is a football club based in the towns of Linas and Montlhéry in France. As of the 2024–25 season, it competes in the Championnat National 3, the fifth tier of the French football league system. Kolpak Ruling
The ''Kolpak'' ruling is a European Court of Justice ruling handed down on 8 May 2003 in favour of Maroš Kolpak, a Slovak handball player. It declared that citizens of countries which have signed European Union Association Agreements have the same right to freedom of work and movement within the EU as EU citizens. Thus any restrictions placed on their right to work (such as quotas setting maximum numbers of such foreign players in sports teams) are deemed illegal under EU law. Cotonou Agreement
The Cotonou Agreement (French: ''Accord de Cotonou'') is a treaty between the European Union (EU) and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States ("ACP countries"). It was signed in June 2000 in Cotonou, Benin's largest city, by 78 ACP countries (Cuba did not sign) and the then fifteen EU member states. It entered into force in 2003 and was subsequently revised in 2005 and 2010. COVID-19 Pandemic In France
The COVID-19 pandemic in France has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus was confirmed to have reached France on 24 January 2020, when the first COVID-19 case in both Europe and France was identified in Bordeaux.
