2019–20 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball season began with practices in October 2019, followed by the start of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season on November 5, 2019. Conference play began in late December 2019 and concluded in March with the Missouri Valley Conference tournament at Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Northern Iowa captured the regular season title at 14–4. Bradley defeated Valparaiso in the championship game to win the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and thereby would have received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Northern Iowa, by virtue of winning the regular season title, but not winning the conference tournament, would have received the conference's automatic bid to the National Invitational tournament. Brian Wardle (basketball)
Brian M. Wardle (born October 9, 1979) is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball coach at Bradley University. Early life and education Born in Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Wardle graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in nearby Hinsdale in 1997. At Hinsdale Central, Wardle earned two all-state basketball honors and broke scoring and rebounding records in school history. After high school, Wardle played for Marquette University at guard from 1997 to 2001, under head coach Mike Deane from 1997 to 1999 and Tom Crean from 1999 to 2001. In four seasons, Wardle played 117 games with 93 starts. Bryan Mullins
Bryan Mullins (born January 13, 1987) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He was head coach of the Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team for five seasons from 2019 to 2024. He has been an assistant on Chris Holtmann's staff at DePaul University since April 1, 2024. Playing career Mullins was a four-year letterwinner at Southern Illinois for coach Chris Lowery where he was part of the Salukis' Sweet 16 run in the 2007 NCAA tournament. He was also a two-time Academic All-American at the school, as well as a two-time Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year. The Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team represents Loyola University Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. The Ramblers participate as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. Barry Douglas Hinson (born May 12, 1961) is an American college basketball coach and most recently was the head coach of the Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team (SIU). He was born in Marlow, Oklahoma. The Southern Illinois Salukis men's basketball team represents Southern Illinois University Carbondale in Carbondale, Illinois. The 2020 National Invitational Tournament was to be a single-elimination tournament of 32 NCAA Division I men's college basketball teams not been selected to participate in the 2020 NCAA tournament. The 2020 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was a planned single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college basketball national champion for the 2019–20 season. The 82nd edition of the tournament would have begun on March 17, 2020, and concluded with the championship game on April 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
