2019–20 Mid-American Conference Women's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 Mid-American Conference women's basketball season began with practices in October 2019, followed by the start of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's basketball season in November. Conference play began in January 2020 and concluded in March 2020. Central Michigan its fourth straight regular season title with a record of 15-1 by three games over 2019–20 Ball State Cardinals women's basketball team, Ball State. Micaela Kelly of Central Michigan was named MAC player of the year. Central Michigan and Ball State were upset in the quarter-finals of the 2020 MAC women's basketball tournament, MAC tournament by ninth-seeded Toledo and seventh-seeded Eastern Michigan. Molly Davis (basketball)
Molly Davis (born August 21, 2000) is an American former basketball player who is a graduate assistant for the Evansville Purple Aces women's basketball team. She played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Central Michigan Chippewas. Early life and high school career Davis was born in Lafayette, Indiana, to Ted and Melinda Davis, and has an older brother, Trevor. Her father played college football for Franklin College (Indiana), and her brother played basketball for Northwood University. She played three years of high school basketball at H. H. Dow High School in Midland, Michigan, and was named second-team all-state as a sophomore. She played for the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) team Michigan Mystics in 2017 and 2018. Heather Oesterle
Heather Oesterle (born ) is a former collegiate basketball player who is currently an assistant coach for the Stanford Cardinal women's basketball team. Previously, she was the head coach of the Central Michigan and the strategic program director of Notre Dame women's basketball teams. Oesterle was named CMU's head women's basketball coach in July, 2019, succeeding her long-time mentor Sue Guevara. Oesterle served for nine seasons on Guevara's staff at CMU, helping lead the program to unprecedented heights including three Mid-American Conference championships, two MAC Tournament titles, and five MAC West Division crowns. She earned her bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Michigan in 2002 and her master's degree in sports studies from Miami in 2008. Courtney Woods (basketball)
Courtney Woods (born 24 March 1997) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Townsville Fire of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). She played college basketball for the Northern Illinois Huskies before beginning her professional career in the WNBL in 2020 with the Fire. She won a WNBL championship with the Fire in 2023. In the NBL1 North, Woods won back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023 with the Townsville Flames and Northside Wizards respectively. The 2019–20 Buffalo Bulls women's basketball team represented the University at Buffalo during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Bulls, led by eight-year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack, played their home games at Alumni Arena as members of the East Division of the Mid-American Conference. They finished the season 19–12, 9–9 in MAC play. Buffalo won the MAC conference tournament championship game over Ohio, 77–61. Cierra Dillard was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. 2020 MAC Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2020 MAC women's basketball tournament was the postseason women's basketball tournament for the Mid-American Conference (MAC). The tournament's first-round games were held on campus sites at the higher seed on March 9, followed by the quarterfinals at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland on March 11. The remaining rounds were to be held at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on March 13 and 14, and the champion was to receive the MAC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Just prior to the first scheduled men's quarterfinal game on March 12, the conference announced that the remainder of both the men's and women's tournaments were canceled in response to concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.
