2019–20 Delaware State Hornets Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Delaware State Hornets men's basketball team represented Delaware State University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hornets, led by second-year head coach Eric Skeeters, played their home games at Memorial Hall in Dover, Delaware as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 6–26, 4–12 in MEAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. As the No. 8 seed in the MEAC tournament, they beat Maryland Eastern Shore in the first round before losing to North Carolina Central. Previous season The Hornets finished the 2018–19 season 6–25, 2–14 in MEAC play to finish in last place. Eric Skeeters
Eric Skeeters is an American college basketball coach who was most recently head coach of the Delaware State Hornets men's basketball team. Playing career Skeeters played basketball and lacrosse at Catonsville CC, where he led the region in assists in 1990. Coaching career After obtaining his associate degree, Skeeters enrolled at Coppin State while also beginning his coaching career as an assistant coach and junior varsity head coach at St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. He stayed in that position from 1992 to 1996, landing on the coaching staff at Coppin State under Fang Mitchell. Skeeters was on the Eagles staff that upset second-seeded South Carolina as a 15-seed in the 1997 NCAA tournament, and continued on with Coppin State until 1999 when he accepted an assistant coaching position at Youngstown State. 2019–20 Manhattan Jaspers Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Manhattan Jaspers basketball team represented Manhattan University (then called Manhattan College) in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Jaspers, led by 9th-year head coach Steve Masiello, played their home games at Draddy Gymnasium in Riverdale, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). They finished the season 13–18 overall, 8–12 in MAAC play, to finish in a tie for eighth place. As the #9 seed in the MAAC tournament, they defeated #8 seed Fairfield in the first round before losing to #1 seed Siena in the quarterfinals.
