2019–20 Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Dayton Flyers men's basketball team represented the University of Dayton during the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Flyers were led by third-year head coach Anthony Grant and played their home games at the University of Dayton Arena as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Flyers finished the season with an overall record of 29–2 and were undefeated regular season champions of the Atlantic 10. Grant was named consensus national coach of the year while sophomore Obi Toppin became Dayton's first consensus first-team All-American and earned the majority of major college player of the year awards, including the Naismith College Player of the Year and the John R. Wooden Award. The season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic prior to the Flyers’ first game of the Atlantic 10 tournament. Anthony Grant (basketball)
Anthony Duvale Grant (born April 15, 1966) is an American basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Dayton. Prior to that, he was the head coach at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2006 to 2009, and at the University of Alabama from 2009 to 2015. Prior to becoming the VCU head coach, he was an assistant coach at the University of Florida from 1996 to 2006. Biography Early life After graduating from Miami Senior High School, Grant became an All-City first-team selection and Player-of-the-Year. He played at the University of Dayton from 1983 to 1987 while residing at 3 Evanston (The Gateway) and guiding them to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament before bowing out to eventual national champion Georgetown. The 2018–19 Atlantic 10 Conference men's basketball season was the 43rd season of Atlantic 10 Conference basketball. The season began with practices in October 2018, followed by the start of the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. League play began in late December and ended in March. The Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team is the College basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program representing Stony Brook University. Frankie Andrew Policelli (born April 11, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Valmiera Glass VIA of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. He spent the majority of his college basketball career with the Stony Brook Seawolves, also playing a year for the Dayton Flyers and Charleston Cougars. Early life Policelli grew up in New Hartford, New York with his parents Angie and Frank. His father Frank is an attorney in Utica. Policelli began his high school career at New Hartford Senior High School, playing for head coach John Randall. He averaged 13.5 points per game as a freshman and 20.3 as a sophomore. The 2018–19 Colorado Buffaloes men's basketball team represented the University of Colorado in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.
