2019–20 Conference USA Men's Basketball Season
The 2019–20 Conference USA men's basketball season began with practices in October 2019, followed by the start of the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season in November. Conference play started in late December 2019 and will end in March 2020, after which 12 member teams will participate in the 2020 Conference USA tournament at The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. The tournament champion is guaranteed a selection to the 2020 NCAA tournament. NCAA Division I
NCAA Division I (D-I) is the highest division of intercollegiate athletics sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States, which accepts players globally. D-I schools include the major collegiate athletic powers, with large budgets, more elaborate facilities and more athletic scholarships than Division II and Division III as well as many smaller schools committed to the highest level of intercollegiate competition. This level was previously called the University Division of the NCAA, in contrast to the lower-level College Division; these terms were replaced with numeric divisions in 1973. Charles Bassey
Charles A. Bassey (born October 28, 2000) is a Nigerian basketball player for the San Antonio Spurs of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. He was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2021 NBA draft. Early life Bassey was born in Lagos, Nigeria, where he played soccer until age 12, standing at the time. Miami Hurricanes Men's Basketball
The Miami Hurricanes men's basketball team is the college basketball team of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. The team competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). The University of Miami men's basketball team was formed in 1926, but the program was later dropped by the university in 1971. In 1985, 14 years later, the Hurricanes resumed play as an independent and joined the Big East Conference (1979–2013), Big East Conference in 1991, winning the Big East regular season title in 2000. Eric Konkol
Eric Konkol (born November 24, 1976) is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is the current head coach of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's basketball program. Coaching career On May 18, 2015, Konkol was named by Louisiana Tech as the 18th head coach of the Bulldogs basketball team. He replaced former head coach Mike White who accepted the head coaching position at the University of Florida. Through seven seasons as head coach, Konkol had six seasons of more than 20 wins which is the most in Louisiana Tech men's basketball history. Florida Gators Men's Basketball
The Florida Gators men's basketball team represents the University of Florida in the sport of basketball. The Gators compete in NCAA Division I's Southeastern Conference (SEC). Home games are played on Billy Donovan Court in the O'Connell Center, Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center on the university's Gainesville, Florida, Gainesville campus. Dusty Allan May (born December 30, 1976) is an American college basketball coach, currently the Wolverines men's basketball head coach at the University of Michigan. He was the head coach for Florida Atlantic University from 2018 to 2024, leading the Owls to the NCAA Final Four in 2023. May was hired by Michigan in 2024, replacing Juwan Howard. VCU Rams Men's Basketball
The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The Rams joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2012–13 season after previously competing in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In 2017, VCU was ranked the 40th most valuable men's basketball program in the country by ''The Wall Street Journal''. Jeremy Ballard (born June 29, 1981) is an American college basketball coach, and current head men's basketball coach at FIU. Playing career Ballard played college basketball at Colgate, where he was a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection, and served as team captain his senior year. Ron Sanchez
Ron Sanchez is a college basketball coach who most recently served as the interim head coach for the Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball team. He was appointed interim head coach in October 2024 following Tony Bennett's surprise retirement. Jay Ladner (born December 8, 1965) is an American basketball coach. He is the head men's basketball coach of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles men's basketball team. Playing career Ladner played college basketball at Southern Miss where he was part of the Golden Eagles' 1987 NIT Championship team.
