2019–20 Cleveland State Vikings Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Cleveland State Vikings men's basketball team represented Cleveland State University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Vikings, led by first-year head coach Dennis Gates, played their home games at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio as members of the Horizon League. They finished the season 11–21, 7–11 in Horizon League play to finish in a tie for seventh place. They lost in the first round of the Horizon League tournament to Oakland. Previous season The Vikings finished the 2018–19 season 10–21 overall, 5–13 in Horizon League play to finish in ninth place. In turn, they failed to qualify for the Horizon League tournament. Dennis Gates
Dennis Gates (born January 14, 1980) is an American college basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Missouri Tigers men's basketball team. Playing career Gates played college basketball at California Golden Bears men's basketball, California, where he was a two-time first-team All-Academic selection in the Pac-12 Conference, Pac-10, having graduated in three years, playing his senior season as a master's degree candidate. Gates was also a member of Cal's 2002 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, 2002 NCAA tournament team.
