2019–20 Appalachian State Mountaineers Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Appalachian State Mountaineers men's basketball team represented Appalachian State University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mountaineers, led by first-year head coach Dustin Kerns, played their home games at the George M. Holmes Convocation Center in Boone, North Carolina as members of the Sun Belt Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 11–9 in Sun Belt play to finish in sixth place. They defeated Coastal Carolina in the second round of the Sun Belt tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Texas State. Dustin Kerns
Dustin Kerns (born February 1, 1980) is an American college basketball coach, and current head coach of the Appalachian State Mountaineers men's basketball team. Coaching career Kerns served as a student assistant at Clemson University, Clemson for its Clemson Tigers men's basketball, men's basketball team, and after graduation landed his first coaching job at Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles men's basketball, Tennessee Tech. Following a one-year stop as a graduate assistant at Tennessee Volunteers basketball, Tennessee, Kerns joined Mike Young (basketball), Mike Young's staff at Wofford Terriers men's basketball, Wofford from 2004 to 2007, then moved on to Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball, Santa Clara as an assistant from 2007 to 2013. Crisler Center
Crisler Center (formerly known as the University Events Building and Crisler Arena) is an indoor arena located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is the home arena for the University of Michigan's men's and women's basketball teams as well as its women's gymnastics team. Constructed in 1967, the arena seats 12,707 spectators. It is named for Herbert O. "Fritz" Crisler, head football coach at Michigan from 1938 to 1947 and athletic director thereafter until his retirement in 1968.
