The men's 100 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships was held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha on 27 to 28 September 2019. Summary The semi-finals were dominated by world leader Christian Coleman, who was allowed to compete despite missing three doping tests in the year due to a technicality, and blasted a 9.88 while no other qualifiers broke 10. The last time qualifier, Filippo Tortu, made the final by .001, running 10.101 over Tyquendo Tracey's 10.102, while Aaron Brown got in by placing second behind Coleman in heat 1 with 10.12. Femi Ogunode
Femi Seun Ogunode (born 15 May 1991 in Ondo City) is a Nigerian-born sprint athlete who competes internationally for Qatar since 2010. His personal best of 9.91 at the 100 m in 2015 made him the former holder of the Asian 100 m record, which was tied by China's Su Bingtian in 2018 and surpassed in 2021 at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Ogunode made his international debut for Qatar at the 2010 Asian Games and won a 200 metres/400 metres double. Olusoji Adetokunbo Fasuba (born 9 July 1984) is a Nigerian sprinter who specializes in the 100 metres. He was the African record holder in the event with 9.85 seconds until Akani Simbine broke it in July 2021 with 9.84 seconds. He was a member of the Nigerian bronze medal winning team in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2004 Olympic Games. The same year he won the African Championships in 100 metres.
