2019 Queen's Club Championships
The 2019 Queen's Club Championships (also known as the Fever-Tree Championships for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor grass courts. It was the 117th edition of the event and part of the ATP Tour 500 series of the 2019 ATP Tour. It took place at the Queen's Club in London, United Kingdom from 17 to 23 June. Grass Court
A grass court is one of the four different types of tennis court on which the sport of tennis, originally known as "lawn tennis", is played. Grass courts are made of grasses in different compositions depending on the tournament. Although grass courts are more traditional than other types of tennis courts, maintenance costs of grass courts are higher than those of hard courts and clay courts. Grass courts (in the absence of suitable covers) must be left for the day if rain appears, as the grass becomes very slippery when wet and will not dry for many hours. This is a disadvantage on outdoor courts compared to using hard and clay surfaces, where play can resume in 30 to 120 minutes after the end of rain. Milos Raonic (; sr, Милош Раонић, Miloš Raonić, ; born December 27, 1990) is a Canadian inactive professional tennis player. Robert Charbel Farah Maksoud (; born 20 January 1987) is a Colombian professional tennis player, who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. He reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 163 in June 2011, but has achieved most of his success in doubles. Farah is a two-time Grand Slam Champion, having won both the Wimbledon Championships and the US Open in 2019 in men's doubles, alongside compatriot Juan Sebastián Cabal. Roberto Carballés Baena (; born 23 March 1993) is a Spanish tennis player. He achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 71 on 15 November 2021. His preferred surface is clay, on which he has won one ATP title and 19 ITF titles in singles. James Ward (tennis)
James Ward (born 9 February 1987) is a British former professional tennis player. He is a Davis Cup champion and former British No. 2. He reached the quarterfinals of the 2010 Aegon International and the semifinals of the 2011 Aegon Championships as a wildcard entry. His best Grand Slam performance to date was reaching the third round of Wimbledon in 2015. In February 2009, Ward played what was then, the longest tennis match in history, lasting 6 hrs 40 mins, eventually losing to Chris Eaton. Nicolas Pierre Armand Mahut (; born 21 January 1982) is a French professional tennis player who is a former world No. 1 in doubles. Alexander Stanislavovich "Sasha" Bublik (; born 17 June 1997) is a Russian-born Kazakhstani professional tennis player. He has been ranked as high as world No. 30 in singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), which he achieved in February 2022, and is the current Kazakhstani No. 1 player. Aljaž Bedene (born 18 July 1989) is a Slovenian former professional tennis player. He was a naturalised Briton and played with this nationality from 2015 to 2017, returning to represent Slovenia in 2018. Bedene has won six Futures and 16 Challenger singles titles. Jay Alexander Clarke (born 27 July 1998) is a British tennis player. In 2017, on a Wimbledon wildcard, Clarke and Marcus Willis beat the defending doubles champions and second seeds, Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert, in five sets, to progress to the third round.
