2019 Ivy League Men's Soccer Season
The 2019 Ivy League men's soccer season was the 65th season of the conference sponsoring men's varsity soccer. The season began in August 2019 and concluded in November 2019. Princeton entered the 2019 season as the defending conference champions by virtue of having the best regular season record. The Ivy League is one of three NCAA Division I men's soccer conferences that do not have a conference tournament to determine their NCAA Tournament berth (the other two are the Pac-12 and the West Coast Conferences). Princeton was unable to defend their title, as Yale won their first Ivy League championship since 1989. Background Previous season The 2018 season was the conference's 64th season sponsoring men's varsity soccer. Princeton won the Ivy League championship with a 5–1–1 record. Dawson McCartney (born October 15, 1998) is an American soccer player who currently plays as a midfielder for Portland Timbers 2. Dawson played for the Dartmouth Big Green through the 2020 season. Early life Dawson was born in Voorhees, NJ where he spent the majority of his childhood. His parents, Edward and Annemarie, played collegiate soccer and field hockey, respectively. Kevin O'Toole (born December 14, 1998) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club New York City FC. Career O'Toole is a member of the New York Red Bulls Academy. Mark Anthony Almeda Winhoffer (born 1 March 1999) is a Filipino-American footballer who plays as a midfielder for the North Carolina Tar Heels of the Atlantic Coast Conference (NCAA Division I) and the Philippines national team. Newton Soccer Complex
The Newton Campus Soccer Field is the on-campus soccer and lacrosse stadium at Boston College in Newton, Massachusetts. The 1,800 person capacity stadium was built in 1999. The current tenants are the Boston College Eagles men's & women's soccer teams and Boston College Eagles women's lacrosse. Renovations Prior to the 2003 season, lights were added to the field.
