2019 FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup
The 2019 FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup was the second edition of the FIVB Women's Volleyball Challenger Cup, an annual women's international volleyball tournament contested by six national teams that acts as a qualifier for the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League. The tournament was held in Lima, Peru. Canada won the title, defeating the Czech Republic in the final, and earned the right to participate in the 2020 Nations League replacing Bulgaria, the last placed challenger team after the 2019 edition. Argentina defeated Croatia in the 3rd place match. On 8 May 2020, FIVB announced that the 2020 Nations League and 2020 Challenger Cup was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. So the tournament eventually became the 2021 Nations League qualifier. In team sport, captain is a title given to a member of the team. Kyla Richey
Kyla Richey (born 20 June 1989) is a Canadian volleyball player. She is a member of the Canada women's national volleyball team since she made the Senior A team in 2008. Prior to that, she was a part of the Junior National team for three years from 2015-2017. Kyla is the current captain of Team Canada under head coach Tom Black. Her career is one of the longest Team Canada Women's Team stints in history competing at three consecutive World Championships. She was part of the Canadian national team at the 2010 World Championships in Japan, the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Italy, and 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. Child Hero Manuel Bonilla Municipal Sports Complex ( es, Complejo Deportivo Municipal Niño Héroe Manuel Bonilla), also known as the Municipal Stadium of Miraflores ( es, Estadio Municipal de Miraflores) is a sports complex in Miraflores District, Lima, Peru. It is named after Manuel Bonilla Elhart, a child soldier and war hero of the Peruvian Army who was killed in action during the War of the Pacific. FIVB World Rankings
The FIVB Senior World Rankings is a ranking system for men's and women's national teams in volleyball. The teams of the member nations of Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), volleyball's world governing body, are ranked based on their game results with the most successful teams being ranked highest. A points system is used, with points being awarded based on the results of all FIVB-recognised full international matches. The rankings are used in international competitions to define the seeded teams and arrange them in pools. Specific procedures for seeding and pooling are established by the FIVB in each competition's formula, but the method usually employed is the serpentine system.
