2019 BWF World Championships – Women's Singles
The women's singles tournament of the 2019 BWF World Championships (World Badminton Championships) took place from 19 to 25 August. The Badminton World Federation has conducted a re-draw of the women's singles event on 9 August, because a player had mistakenly been included in the entry list. Michelle Li (badminton)
Michelle Li (born November 3, 1991) is a Canadian badminton player. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. She has won gold in both singles and doubles at the Pan American Games and won the singles and team event titles from the Pan American Badminton Championships. As a competitor for Ontario, Li also won singles, doubles, and mixed team titles at the 2011 Canada Winter Games. Chloe Birch
Chloe Francesca Hannah Coney ( Birch; born 16 September 1995) is an English badminton player. Career She was introduced to badminton through school and started playing at age eight at Abbeydale Badminton Club. Birch received the Michael Vaughan Award from Silverdale School, and competed at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival in 2013. She was the runner-up in 2016 English National Championships women's singles. Birch graduated from Loughborough University with sport and exercise science degree. Birch was part of the English team that won the mixed team bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast. She won the women's doubles silver medal at the 2019 European Games partnered with Lauren Smith. Busanan Ongbamrungphan (Thai: บุศนันท์ อึ๊งบำรุงพันธ์; born 22 March 1996) is a Thai badminton player who specializes in singles. Yeo Jia Min (; born 1 February 1999) is a Singaporean badminton player. She is a former World Junior No.1 and the first Singaporean in either the junior or senior categories to made it to the top of the BWF's ranking system. Early life and education Yeo was born in Singapore. Initially a permanent resident, she became a Singaporean citizen sometime in her childhood. Yeo would begin playing badminton when she was seven years old and had often played with her parents. Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt (born 20 April 1994) is a Danish badminton player specializing in singles. She was a gold medalists in the 2015 European Games and 2025 European Championships. In the juniors, she won a bronze medal at the 2010 BWF World Junior Championships in the women's doubles with Sandra-Maria Jensen.
