2019–20 Stony Brook Seawolves Men's Basketball Team
The 2019–20 Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team represented Stony Brook University in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook, New York and were led by first-year head coach Geno Ford, who took over for former head coach Jeff Boals, who left the school to accept the head coaching position at Ohio. They are members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 10–6 in America East play to finish in second place. They defeated Albany in the quarterfinals of the America East tournament before losing in the semifinals to Hartford. Previous season The Seawolves finished the 2018–19 season 24–9 overall, 12–4 in conference play to finish in second place. Geno Ford
Gene A. "Geno" Ford (born October 11, 1974) is an American college basketball coach and former college and professional basketball player. He is currently the men's head coach for the Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball, Stony Brook Seawolves, a position he has held since 2019. He was previously the head coach at Shawnee State University, Muskingum University (then Muskingum College), Kent State Golden Flashes men's basketball, Kent State University (2008–2011) and Bradley Braves men's basketball, Bradley University (2011–2015). Ford was an assistant coach at Ohio Bobcats men's basketball, Ohio University, Kent State and Stony Brook. He was promoted to head coach at Stony Brook after serving on Jeff Boals' staff for three seasons. The Abaco Islands lie in the north of The Bahamas, about 193 miles (167.7 nautical miles or 310.6 km) east of Miami, Florida, US. Mouhamadou "Mo" Gueye ( ; born July 6, 1998) is an American professional basketball player for the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League. He played college basketball at the NCAA Division I level for the Stony Brook Seawolves and Pittsburgh Panthers. Early life Gueye was born in Staten Island, New York, to Senegalese parents who played basketball. His father, Ababacar, moved to Staten Island from Senegal in 1987 with $100 and saved money from a job in construction so that his wife, Souwadou, could join him a few years later. Dayton Flyers Men's Basketball
The Dayton Flyers men's basketball team is a college basketball program that competes in NCAA Division I and the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10) representing the University of Dayton in Ohio. The Flyers play their home games at UD Arena, University of Dayton Arena. The Flyers are coached by Anthony Grant who is in his seventh season. Dayton has appeared 19 times in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament, NCAA tournament, most recently in 2024. In March 2020, Dayton was ranked #3 in the AP Top 25 Poll, its highest ranking since the 1955–56 season when it was ranked #2. Frankie Andrew Policelli (born April 11, 2000) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Valmiera Glass VIA of the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. He spent the majority of his college basketball career with the Stony Brook Seawolves, also playing a year for the Dayton Flyers and Charleston Cougars. Early life Policelli grew up in New Hartford, New York with his parents Angie and Frank. His father Frank is an attorney in Utica. Policelli began his high school career at New Hartford Senior High School, playing for head coach John Randall. He averaged 13.5 points per game as a freshman and 20.3 as a sophomore.
