2018–19 UMBC Retrievers Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 UMBC Retrievers men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the UMBC Event Center in Catonsville, Maryland, with one game being played at their former home, the Retriever Activities Center, and were led by third-year head coach Ryan Odom. They were members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 11–5 in America East play to finish in third place. They defeated Albany and Hartford to advance to the championship game of the America East tournament where they lost to Vermont. Despite having 21 wins, they did not participate in a postseason tournament. Ryan Odom
Ryan Odom (born July 11, 1974) is an American men's college basketball coach who is the head coach of the Virginia Cavaliers, Virginia Virginia Cavaliers men's basketball, Cavaliers men's basketball team since March 21, 2025. He has previously coached the UMBC Retrievers, Utah State Aggies, and VCU Rams, taking each program to the NCAA Tournament by his second year. 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the men's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2017–18 season. The 80th annual edition of the tournament began on March 13, 2018, and concluded with the championship game on April 2, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. During the first round, UMBC became the first 16-seed to defeat a 1-seed in the men's tournament by defeating Virginia 74–54. For the first time in tournament history, all four top-seeded teams in a single region (the South) failed to make the Sweet 16. Barking Abbey School
Barking Abbey School is a secondary school and specialist sports and humanities college located in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. It serves students from the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Redbridge, and Newham. Years 7 to 11 (ages 11 – 16) are at the Longbridge Road site and years 7 to 13 (ages 11 – 18) at the Sandringham Road site. Findlay Prep
Findlay Prep is a former high school basketball program located in Henderson, Nevada. History The program was created in 2006 by local businessman Cliff Findlay, who owns several car dealerships in the Las Vegas area. Despite closing its high school in 2010 due to the local economic downturn, the Findlay Prep players took high school classes at Henderson International School. Findlay was part of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA), but they were ineligible to compete in state championships because they were allowed to recruit from outside the state. Instead, they competed for National High School Invitational (NHSI) championships, an 8 team tournament featuring the top high school teams in the country played in New York.
