2018–19 San Diego Toreros Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 San Diego Toreros men's basketball team represented the University of San Diego during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Toreros were led by first-year head coach Sam Scholl. They played their home games at the Jenny Craig Pavilion in San Diego, California, as members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 21–15, 7–9 to finish in 7th place. As the No. 7 seed in the WCC Tournament, they defeated Portland, Santa Clara and BYU to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Saint Mary's. They received an at-large bid to the NIT where they lost in the first round to Memphis. Sam Scholl
Samuel Elden Scholl (born November 11, 1977) is an American college basketball coach who is the former head men's basketball coach at the University of San Diego. The 2017–18 BYU Cougars men's basketball team represented Brigham Young University in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was head coach Dave Rose's 13th season at BYU and the Cougars seventh season as members of the West Coast Conference. The Cougars played their home games at the Marriott Center in Provo, Utah. Finn Sullivan
Finn Sullivan is an American basketball player who recently completed his college career for the Vermont Catamounts of the America East Conference. He previously played for the San Diego Toreros. Sullivan played for former NBA player John Olive at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego and committed to the University of San Diego as a part of new coach Sam Scholl's first recruiting class. Sullivan played three seasons for the Toreros. He averaged 6 points in 74 games for the Toreros. Sullivan then transferred to Vermont where he provided reliable outside shooting to the defense-oriented Catamounts. In taking advantage of an extra year of eligibility offered by the NCAA to athletes playing during the COVID pandemic, Sullivan returned to Vermont for a fifth season. Burlingame () is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States. It is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and has a significant shoreline on San Francisco Bay. Riley Wallace
Robert Riley Wallace (born October 25, 1941) is an American retired basketball coach. He spent most of his career coaching college basketball, and was the head coach of the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors men's team from 1987 through 2007. Early life and college playing career Born in Alton, Illinois, Wallace graduated from Jersey Community High School in Jerseyville, Illinois in 1959. After high school, Wallace attended Centenary College of Louisiana and started at forward all three years on the Centenary Gentlemen varsity basketball team from 1960 to 1963.
