2018–19 SMU Mustangs Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 SMU Mustangs men's basketball team represented Southern Methodist University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Mustangs were led by third-year head coach Tim Jankovich and played their home games at Moody Coliseum on their campus in University Park, Texas as members of the American Athletic Conference. They finished the season 15–17, 6–12 in AAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They defeated Tulsa in the first round of the AAC tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to Cincinnati. Tim Jankovich
Timothy Robert Jankovich (born June 4, 1959) is an American former college basketball coach and former head coach at Southern Methodist University. During his first year (2007–08) at Illinois State, Jankovich led the Redbirds to a 13–5 second-place finish in the Missouri Valley Conference – even though pre-season polls voted the team to be a fifth-place finisher. He was an assistant basketball coach at Kansas for four years, and served under current Kansas head coach Bill Self at Kansas and Illinois. He has also served as an assistant coach at Kansas State, Colorado State, Oklahoma State, Texas and Vanderbilt. He played college basketball at Washington State and Kansas State. While at Colorado State, his teams posted three consecutive winning seasons en route to the best period of college basketball in school history. 2018 NBA Draft
The 2018 NBA Draft was held on June 21, 2018, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. National Basketball Association teams took turns selecting amateur United States college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. Feron Hunt
Feron Hunt (born July 5, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Cleveland Charge of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the SMU Mustangs. High school career Hunt moved from New Orleans to Texas as a sophomore in high school. He played basketball for DeSoto High School in DeSoto, Texas, averaging 11.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game as a senior. Hunt first committed to playing college basketball for TCU but decommitted after one month. He later committed to SMU, choosing the Mustangs over Arkansas and Texas A&M, among others. Rice Owls Men's Basketball
The Rice Owls men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of Rice University. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I, and the team competes in the American Athletic Conference. They previously participated in the Southwest Conference (1914–1996), the Western Athletic Conference (1996–2005), and Conference USA (2005–2023). The Chattanooga Mocs men's basketball team represents the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in NCAA Division I men's competition. On March 30, 2022, Dan Earl was hired as the new head coach.
