2018–19 Rice Owls Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Rice Owls men's basketball team represented Rice University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Owls, led by second-year head coach Scott Pera, played their home games at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, Texas as members of Conference USA. Previous season The Owls finished the 2017–18 season 7–24, 4–14 in C-USA play to finish in 13th place and failed to qualify for the C-USA tournament. Scott Pera
Scott Pera (born August 27, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, most recently serving as the Head Coach for the Rice Owls men's basketball team. Coaching career Pera started his coaching career at Elizabethtown College in 1992, before embarking on a high school coaching career in Pennsylvania and California, most notably Artesia High School (California), Artesia High School, where he coached James Harden. In his high school coaching career, Pera compiled a 258–65 record. In the college ranks, Pera joined Herb Sendek's staff at Arizona State Sun Devils men's basketball, Arizona State, where he began as the director of basketball operations before being elevated to assistant coach. From 2012 to 2014, Pera was an assistant coach at Penn Quakers men's basketball, Penn under Jerome Allen (basketball), Jerome Allen. Drew B. Peterson (born November 9, 1999) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA), on a two-way contract with the Maine Celtics of the NBA G League. Quentin "QMB" Millora-Brown (born March 8, 2001) is a Filipino-American college basketball player for the UP Fighting Maroons of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). Prior to winning a UAAP championship with UP, he also played for the Rice Owls, Vanderbilt Commodores, and The Citadel Bulldogs. Early life and high school career Millora-Brown was born to Bryan W. Kenneth "Trey" Murphy III (born June 18, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Pacific Tigers Men's Basketball
The Pacific Tigers men's basketball team represents the University of the Pacific, located in Stockton, California. The team is an NCAA Division I member, part of the West Coast Conference. They play their home games at the Alex G. Spanos Center and are led by head coach Dave Smart.
