The 2018–19 Prva A Liga, known as Erste košarkaške lige by sponsorship reasons, is the 13th season of the Montenegrin Basketball League, the top tier basketball league on Montenegro. Mornar is the defending champion. Competition format Nine of the eleven teams that play the league join the regular season and play a two-round robin competition where the six first qualified teams join the Super Liga with the two 2018–19 ABA League teams ( Budućnost Voli and Mornar). The last qualified team would play a relegation playoff against the second qualified of the Prva B. Podgorica
Podgorica ( cnr-Cyrl, Подгорица; ) is the Capital city, capital and List of cities and towns in Montenegro, largest city of Montenegro. The city is just north of Lake Skadar and close to coastal destinations on the Adriatic Sea. The Prva A liga, for sponsorships reasons named the Erste Liga, is the top-tier professional basketball league in Montenegro. It is the highest basketball division organized by the Basketball Association of Montenegro (KSCG). It was established in 2006. shortly after Montenegro declared its independence from Serbia and Montenegro. The league is sponsored by and named after Erste Bank. Currently, two clubs from the area are playing in the regional ABA League. KK Ibar Rožaje
KK Ibar is a professional basketball club from Rožaje, Montenegro. The team currently competes in the First Montenegrin Opportunity League, Erste Basketball League. They gained their status of a first division team by winning the second division league Prva B Liga in 2011/12. The club also competes in all leagues for younger players. Golubovci
Golubovci (, ) is a small town in the new Zeta Municipality of Montenegro. Until 2022, it was part of Podgorica Municipality. Golubovci is the seat of the new municipality. The town has 3,110 residents according to 2011 census, while the surrounding Zeta Municipality accounts for some 16,093 residents. Transport Podgorica Airport is occasionally referred to as Golubovci Airport by locals, due to its proximity to the town. Golubovci is located next to the M-2, Podgorica - Bar road ( E65/ E80), main Montenegrin road connection between the coast and northern part of the country. Ulcinj
Ulcinj () is a town in the Coastal Montenegro, Coastal region of Montenegro and the capital of Ulcinj Municipality. It has an urban population of 11,488. As one of the oldest settlements in the Adriatic Sea, Adriatic coast, it was founded in 5th century BC. It was captured by the Roman Empire, Romans in 163 BC from the Illyrians. With the division of the Roman Empire, it was a part of the Byzantine Empire and Kingdom of Serbia (medieval), Serbian Kingdom in the Middle Ages until the Republic of Venice captured it in 1405. Nikšić (Cyrillic script, Cyrillic: Никшић, ), is the second largest city in Montenegro, with a total population of 32,046 (2023 census) located in the west of the country, in the centre of the spacious Nikšić field at the foot of Trebjesa Hill.
