2018–19 Northeastern Huskies Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Northeastern Huskies men's basketball team represented Northeastern University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Huskies, led by 13th-year head coach Bill Coen, played their home games at Matthews Arena in Boston, Massachusetts as members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). They finished the season 23–11, 14–4 in CAA play, to finish in second place. In the CAA tournament, they defeated 2018–19 UNC Wilmington Seahawks men's basketball team, UNC Wilmington, 2018–19 Charleston Cougars men's basketball team, College of Charleston and 2018–19 Hofstra Pride men's basketball team, Hofstra to win the CAA tournament. As a result, they received an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament where they lost in the first round to 2018–19 Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball team, Kansas. Bill Coen
Bill Coen (born May 3, 1961) is an American college basketball coach and the current head men's basketball coach at the Northeastern University (Boston, Massachusetts), Northeastern University. He was previously an assistant coach under Al Skinner at Boston College and University of Rhode Island, Rhode Island. Under his coaching, the Huskies have won two CAA tournament championships and played in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament two times. 2018 CAA Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2018 Colonial Athletic Association men's basketball tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the Colonial Athletic Association for the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The tournament was held March 3–6, 2018 at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, South Carolina. The College of Charleston received the CAA's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with an 83–76 overtime win over Northeastern in the championship game. Tournament changes On July 11, 2017, it was announced that the tournament, which was previously played on a Friday–Monday format, would move to a Saturday–Tuesday format beginning with the 2018 tournament. Tyson Walker (born September 18, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).
