2018–19 NJIT Highlanders Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 NJIT Highlanders men's basketball team represented the New Jersey Institute of Technology during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Highlanders, led by third-year head coach Brian Kennedy, played their home games at the Wellness and Events Center in Newark, New Jersey as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). They finished the season 22–13, 8–8 in ASUN play to finish in fifth place. They defeated Florida Gulf Coast in the quarterfinals of the ASUN tournament before losing in the semifinals to Lipscomb. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Quinnipiac in the first round before losing in the quarterfinals to Hampton. Brian Kennedy (basketball)
Brian Kennedy is an American college basketball coach and former head coach for the NJIT Highlanders men's basketball team. Playing career Kennedy grew up in Rumson, New Jersey and attended Christian Brothers Academy. In college, Kennedy his playing career with Princeton before transferring and completing his college career at Monmouth. Coaching career Upon graduation, Kennedy took over his family's basketball business, The Hoop Group, one of the largest instructional basketball camps in the United States. He stayed in that role until 1997 when he joined the staff at DePaul as an assistant until 2002. From 2002 to 2009, Kennedy left coaching and worked in the financial sector. Kennedy returned to coaching in 2009 as an assistant at NJIT under Jim Engles, and upon Engles departure to Columbia, Kennedy was elevated to the head coach. South Alabama Jaguars Men's Basketball
The South Alabama Jaguars men's the goats basketball program has competed in the Sun Belt Conference since 1978 when the league was formed. Since 1968, the Jaguars have compiled an overall record of 694–507 (.580). South Alabama has won the Sun Belt Conference championship five times and reached the NCAA tournament eight times. The Jaguars last NCAA tournament appearance was in 2008. History The University of South Alabama is a public, doctoral-level university in Mobile, Alabama, United States. Mott Community College (officially Charles Stewart Mott Community College or abbreviated MCC) is a public community college in Flint, Michigan. Canarias Basketball Academy
Canarias Basketball Academy is a basketball institute based in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. Its senior team currently plays in the Spanish Basketball Federation with their U18 and U16 teams. The junior team usually participates in the Euroleague Basketball Nike International Junior Tournament. It also takes part in different tournaments in the USA such as the MaxPreps Tournament, the Hoop Group Under Armour and the Adidas Nations.
