2018–19 Memphis Grizzlies Season
The 2018–19 Memphis Grizzlies season was the 24th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association, NBA and its 18th in Memphis, Tennessee, Memphis. On May 1, 2018, the Grizzlies named former interim coach J. B. Bickerstaff as the official head coach. On February 7, 2019, Marc Gasol was traded to the Toronto Raptors, after spending 11 years with the Grizzlies (his entire NBA career up until then). This was the first time since the that Gasol was not on the team. They improved their record from the previous season, but still ended with a losing record and missing the playoffs. On June 19, 2019, Mike Conley Jr., Mike Conley was traded to the Utah Jazz, ending his 12-year stint with the Grizzlies (his entire career up until that point). Chris Wallace (NBA General Manager)
Chris Wallace is an American professional basketball executive and scout who is the director of scouting for the Houston Rockets of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Wallace began working in the NBA in 1986, and was the general manager of the Boston Celtics for ten seasons. Unlike many of his general manager peers, he has never been a player or coach in the NBA. In 2007, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies as their general manager and vice president of basketball operations. Early years Wallace graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1976. In 1981, while a student at the University of Kansas, Wallace founded Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook, an in-depth preseason guide, which he edited and published until 1996. Chad Forcier
Chad Forcier is an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Career Forcier attended Seattle Pacific University, but did not play basketball there, graduating in 1995. During his time in college, he started his coaching career, joining the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) as an intern in 1992. He spent five seasons with the SuperSonics, working for head coach George Karl. From 1994 to 1997, Forcier also served as varsity assistant coach and JV head coach at Lake Washington High School in Kirkland, Washington. 2018–19 Indiana Pacers Season
The 2018–19 Indiana Pacers season was Indiana's 52nd season as a franchise and 43rd season in the NBA. The Pacers endured a major setback when their star player, Victor Oladipo, suffered a season-ending knee injury in a January game against Toronto. Oladipo was nevertheless voted an All-Star reserve. The Pacers struggled after Oladipo's injury, posting a 16–19 record during the rest of the season. Despite their late-season struggles, the Pacers clinched a playoff appearance and matched their 48–34 record from the previous year. The Pacers were defeated in four games by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs. Wayne Selden
Wayne Anthony Selden Jr. (born September 30, 1994) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Chorale Roanne. He played college basketball for the Kansas Jayhawks. High school career Selden first attended John D. O'Bryant as a freshman before transferring to Tilton School, where he reclassified to the class of 2014 and repeated the ninth grade. In 2012, he reclassified back to the class of 2013. He averaged 24.8 points, 10.1 rebounds and four assists during his senior year, earning McDonald's All-American. Chandler Parsons
Chandler Evan Parsons (born October 25, 1988) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the University of Florida and was drafted by the Houston Rockets with the 38th overall pick in the 2011 NBA draft. Between 2011 and 2020, Parsons played in the NBA for the Rockets, the Dallas Mavericks, the Memphis Grizzlies, and the Atlanta Hawks before injuries caused by a drunk driver forced him into retirement. The 2018–19 Atlanta Hawks season was the 70th season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the 51st in Atlanta. On April 25, 2018, the Hawks and Mike Budenholzer mutually agreed to part ways. On May 11, 2018, the Hawks hired Lloyd Pierce as head coach. Four days later, the Hawks won the #3 pick in the 2018 NBA draft (though they later traded down to #5 on the night of the draft), as well as enter draft night with four total draft picks over a month later in June. During the offseason, the Hawks signed veteran Vince Carter, the 8th team that he has played for in his 21-year career. Legacy Arena (formerly known as the BJCC Coliseum and the BJCC Arena) is an arena located at the Birmingham–Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama. The arena seats 17,654 for sporting events, up to 16,250 for concerts and 6,000 in a cut-down theater configuration. JaMychal Green (born June 21, 1990) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Alabama Crimson Tide. The 2018–19 Houston Rockets season was the 52nd season of the franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), and their 48th in the Houston area. Despite early struggles in the season including an on-court altercation between rival guards Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo, injuries among its players, and losing core players including Trevor Ariza, the team made a dramatic improvement and finished as the 4th seed in the West. Most notable within the surge was Harden's impressive play. It included his 30-point streak which started on December 13, all the way to a surprising 32 games until ending on February 25. Nickey Maxwell Van Exel (born November 27, 1971) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who last served as an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
