Saint Mary's Gaels Men's Basketball
The Saint Mary's Gaels men's basketball team represents Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California, competing in the West Coast Conference of the NCAA. The team plays home games in the University Credit Union Pavilion, capacity 3,500; it is one of the smaller gyms in the WCC. Their head coach is Randy Bennett, who is the school's all-time wins leader. The Gaels have appeared in thirteen NCAA Tournaments—1959, 1989, 1997, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. On March 1, 2013, they were placed on probation by the NCAA for four years due to rules violations. Their two historic rivals are the San Francisco Dons and the Santa Clara Broncos, two other Catholic schools in the San Francisco Bay Area that are in the WCC. Illawarra Hawks
The Illawarra Hawks (formerly the Wollongong Hawks and The Hawks) are an Australian professional basketball team based in Wollongong, New South Wales. The Illawarra Hawks compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at WIN Entertainment Centre, known colloquially as "The Sandpit". David Barlow (basketball)
David Barlow (born 22 October 1983) is an Australian basketball player and coach. He currently serves as player-coach of the Sandringham Sabres in the NBL1 South. He also served as an assistant coach of Melbourne United in the National Basketball League (NBL) between 2023 and 2025. Barlow played professional basketball between 2003 and 2023. He won five NBL championships in 2004, 2005, 2008, 2018 and 2021. Junior career Born in the Melbourne suburb of Sandringham, Barlow played for the Sandringham Sabres of the Big V from 2001 to 2003. Brisbane Bullets
The Brisbane Bullets are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL) based in Brisbane, Queensland. They competed from 1979 to 2008, and returned to the league in 2016. Brisbane were one of ten NBL foundation teams and have won three NBL championships, being successful in the 1985 and 1987 seasons, and again in 2007. They have also competed in the 1984, 1986 and 1990 grand finals and have reached the playoffs 22 times. On 30 June 2008, it was announced that the Bullets license had been returned to the NBL, following financial difficulties for owner Eddy Groves and the failure of attempts to find a new ownership group. Mitchell James Robert McCarron (born 30 June 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player for the Eltham Wildcats of the NBL1 South. He played college basketball in the United States for Metropolitan State University of Denver (Metro State) between 2012 and 2015. He played in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) between 2016 and 2025. Tohiraukura Makaere Smith-Milner (born 6 October 1995) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the Canterbury Rams of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). The Adelaide 36ers are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (NBL). The 36ers are the only team in the league representing the state of South Australia and are based in the state's capital of Adelaide. The club was originally called the Adelaide City Eagles when they joined the NBL in 1982, but changed their name to the 36ers the following year. The 36ers nickname comes from the fact that the Colony of South Australia was officially proclaimed on 28 December 1836. Bendigo Stadium
Bendigo Stadium (also known as Red Energy Arena under naming rights) is an Australian sports and entertainment centre in Bendigo, Victoria. The stadium is home to the Bendigo Braves (NBL1) and Bendigo Spirit (WNBL).
