2018–19 Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Warhawks, led by ninth-year head coach Keith Richard, played their home games at Fant–Ewing Coliseum as members of the Sun Belt Conference. Previous season The Warhawks finished the 2017–18 season 16–16, 9–9 in Sun Belt play, to finish in a tie for fifth place. They defeated Arkansas State in the first round of the 2018 Sun Belt Conference men's basketball tournament, Sun Belt tournament before losing in the quarterfinals to 2017–18 Georgia Southern Eagles men's basketball team, Georgia Southern. Keith Richard
Keith Gerard Richard (born January 10, 1960) is a former American college basketball coach. He coached at the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Louisiana Tech University. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Richard earned a B.A. in business (1982) and M.A. in counseling (1986) from Northeast Louisiana University, now the University of Louisiana at Monroe. As a senior on the Northeast Louisiana basketball team, Richard started 29 of 30 games and averaged 4.5 points per game. Richard was on the Northeast Louisiana teams that won the Trans American Athletic Conference regular season titles in 1979, 1980, and 1982 and conference tournament in 1982. Richard is the active leader and 2nd all-time in Sun Belt Conference wins with 124. Williams Assembly Center
Lee E. Williams Assembly Center is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena located on Jackson State University's campus in Jackson, Mississippi. It was built in 1981 and is home to the Jackson State Tigers women's and men's basketball teams. It will be renovated in a few years by Durrell Design Group, and the renovations are currently in the planning process. The renovations will consist of new signage added, blue, red and white added to the exterior, renovation of the men's and women's locker rooms and addition of player lounges for men's and women's basketball. 2017–18 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Rankings
Two human polls make up the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll, in addition to various publications' preseason polls. Legend AP Poll USA Today Coaches Poll The Coaches Poll is the second oldest poll still in use after the AP Poll. It is compiled by a rotating group of 31 college Division I head coaches. The Poll operates by Borda count. Each voting member ranks teams from 1 to 25. Each team then receives points for their ranking in reverse order: Number 1 earns 25 points, number 2 earns 24 points, and so forth. The points are then combined and the team with the highest points is then ranked No. 1; second highest is ranked No. 2 and so forth. Only the top 25 teams with points are ranked, with teams receiving first place votes noted the quantity next to their name. The maximum points a single team can earn is 775.
