2018–19 Jackson State Tigers Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Jackson State Tigers basketball team represented Jackson State University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Tigers were led by sixth-year head coach Wayne Brent, and played their home games at the Williams Assembly Center in Jackson, Mississippi as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 13–19 overall, 10–8 in SWAC play to finish in a three-way tie for third place. As the No. 3 seed in the SWAC tournament, they were upset by No. 6 seed Alabama State in the quarterfinals. Previous season The Tigers finished the 2017–18 season 12–20, 9–9 in SWAC play to finish in sixth place. Wayne Brent
Wayne Brent is the former men's basketball head coach of the Jackson State Tigers and a former high school basketball coach and college assistant coach. He retired following the 2021-2022 season and replaced by Mo Williams. High school coach Brent won four state championships in six seasons with Callaway High School in Jackson, Mississippi. He also coached at and won a state championship at Provine High School. He has coached many players who have gone to the National Basketball Association and overseas. Reilly Center
Reilly Center, previously known as University Center, is a 5,480-seat multi-purpose arena, in St. Bonaventure, New York, near Olean, New York. It is home to the St. Bonaventure University Bonnies men's and women's basketball teams. The arena opened in 1966 and is named for Carroll "Mike" Reilly, who coached both varsity football and basketball at the university. In 2007, the playing surface was named "Bob Lanier Court" in honor of former Bonnies and NBA great Bob Lanier, who led the Bonnies to the Final Four in 1970. The 2018–19 Louisiana–Monroe Warhawks men's basketball team represented the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Warhawks, led by ninth-year head coach Keith Richard, played their home games at Fant–Ewing Coliseum as members of the Sun Belt Conference. 2018–19 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Rankings
Two human polls made up the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball rankings, the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll, in addition to various publications' preseason polls. Legend AP Poll USA Today Coaches Poll The Coaches Poll is the second oldest poll still in use after the AP Poll. It is compiled by a rotating group of 31 college Division I head coaches. The Poll operates by Borda count. Each voting member ranks teams from 1 to 25. Each team then receives points for their ranking in reverse order: Number 1 earns 25 points, number 2 earns 24 points, and so forth. The points are then combined and the team with the highest points is then ranked No. 1; second highest is ranked No. 2 and so forth. Only the top 25 teams with points are ranked, with teams receiving first place votes noted the quantity next to their name. The maximum points a single team can earn is 775. Centreville was a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,309 in 2010, down from 5,951 at the 2000 census. Webb, Mississippi
Webb is a town in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi. The population was 565 at the 2010 census. History Webb was founded circa 1880. The first post office was founded in 1880 and named Hood for one of the earlier settlers. In 1882, Judge James L.A. Webb, a Confederate veteran and a University of North Carolina graduate, operated the only store there and later the Hood Masonic Lodge was built. There was one saloon at that time called "The Razzle Dazzle". The town was incorporated in 1905. In those days most of the groceries and necessities were brought to Hood by flat bottom boat from Sharkey, Mississippi, being hauled down the river from Friars Point.
