2018–19 Huddersfield Town A.F.C. Season
The 2018–19 season is Huddersfield Town's 110th year in existence and second season in the Premier League following promotion via the 2017 Championship play-off Final. The club has finished their FA Cup and EFL Cup campaigns. They suffered the joint-earliest relegation to the Championship since Derby County in 2008 after a 2–0 defeat to Crystal Palace on 30 March 2019. Huddersfield Town A
Huddersfield is a market town in the Kirklees district in West Yorkshire, England. It is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Kirklees district. The town is in the foothills of the Pennines. The River Holme's confluence into the similar-sized River Colne, West Yorkshire, Colne to the south of the town centre which then flows into the River Calder, West Yorkshire, Calder in the north eastern outskirts of the town. The rivers around the town provided soft water required for textile treatment in large weaving sheds, this made it a prominent mill town with an economic boom in the early part of the Victorian era Industrial Revolution. Terence Kongolo
Terence Kongolo (born 14 February 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Ligue 2 club Le Havre, on loan from club Fulham. A product of the Feyenoord youth system, he made his Eredivisie debut for them during the 2011–12 season, remaining there until 2017, when he signed for Monaco. When playing for Monaco, he struggled to get into the first team, making until three appearances in Ligue 1 prior to his departure. He joined Huddersfield Town in January 2018, initially on loan, before rejoining them on a permanent transfer. When they were relegated from the Premier League in 2019, Kongolo remained for the first half of the 2019–20 season, before joining Fulham on loan in January 2020, making the deal permanent in October 2020. Tommy Smith (footballer, Born 1992)
Thomas George Smith (born 14 April 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right back for Middlesbrough. Smith began his career with Huddersfield Town after coming through the youth teams at Tranmere Rovers and Manchester City. He established himself as a regular with the Terriers and captained the club to victory over Reading in the 2017 EFL Championship play-off Final. Huddersfield's first season in the Premier League saw them escape relegation but they finished bottom the following season. Jonas Lössl
Jonas Bybjerg Lössl (born 1 February 1989) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Danish Superliga club Midtjylland, and the Denmark national team. After beginning his professional career with Midtjylland, he played in France for Guingamp, in Germany for Mainz 05, and in England for Huddersfield Town and Everton. In 2021, he returned to Midtjylland. Lössl made his senior international debut for Denmark in March 2016 and was part of their squad at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2020 UEFA Euro. Andrew John Hughes (born 2 January 1978 in Manchester) is an English footballer who is a first team coach for club Norwich City. Known for his versatility, his main position is as a central midfielder, but he also played regularly at fullback during his career. Hughes played over 100 games for each of Notts County, Reading and Leeds United. Playing career Hughes began his career at Oldham Athletic making 44 appearances scoring once before joining Notts County, where he made 130 appearances scoring 18 times. The Football Association Challenge Cup, more commonly known as the FA Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in men's domestic English football. First played during the 1871–72 season, it is the oldest national football competition in the world. It is organised by and named after The Football Association (The FA).
