2018–19 Houston Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Houston Cougars men's basketball team represented the University of Houston during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars were led by fifth-year head coach Kelvin Sampson as members of the American Athletic Conference. Beginning December 1, 2018, they played their home games at Fertitta Center, which reopened after a $60 million upgrade. The Cougars played their first four non-conference home games at Health and Physical Education Arena, H&PE Arena while construction on Fertitta Center was completed. Houston finished the 2018–19 regular season 29–2, including an AAC-best 16–2 record in conference play. Kelvin Sampson
Kelvin Dale Sampson (born October 5, 1955) is an American college basketball coach, currently the head coach for the University of Houston of the Big 12 Conference. Early life Sampson was born in Laurinburg, North Carolina, to parents who were members of the Lumbee Native American community of Deep Branch in Robeson County, North Carolina, in which he was reared. Sampson excelled in the classroom and the athletic arena during his prep days at Pembroke High School, in Pembroke, North Carolina. Sampson was captain of his high school basketball team for two years, and played for his father John W. "Ned" Sampson, who was later named to the UNC Pembroke Athletics Hall of Fame. Devin Davis (born March 29, 1995) is an American professional basketball player for Hangtuah Jakarta of the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). He played college basketball for Indiana, Odessa College and Houston. High school career Davis attended Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. College career Davis began his collegiate career at Indiana. He was involved in a serious car accident that left him hospitalized in November 2014. McLennan Community College (MCC) is a Public college, public community college in Waco, Texas. It opened in 1965 and now serves about 9,000 students and has more than 700 employees. It is governed by a board of trustees elected from single-member districts in the county. Campus McLennan is one of three colleges in Waco along with Baylor University and Texas State Technical College. The 2017–18 San Diego State men's basketball team represented San Diego State University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The 2018 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the men's National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2017–18 season.
