2018–19 Drake Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 Drake Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Drake University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs were led by first-year head coach Darian DeVries. They played their home games at Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa as members of the Missouri Valley Conference. They finished the season 24–10, 12–6 to earn a share of the MVC regular season championship. As the No. 2 seed in the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament, MVC tournament, they defeated 2018–19 Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team, Illinois State before losing to 2018–19 Northern Iowa Panthers men's basketball team, Northern Iowa in the semifinals. Darian DeVries
Darian Dale DeVries (born April 7, 1975) is an American basketball coach who is currently the head men's basketball coach at Indiana University Bloomington, Indiana. He was previously the head coach at Drake Bulldogs men's basketball, Drake University from 2018 to 2024 and at West Virginia Mountaineers men's basketball, West Virginia during the 2024–25 season. Early life DeVries was born and raised in Aplington, Iowa. The oldest of five siblings, he played basketball and football at Aplington High School for three years before graduating from the merged Aplington-Parkersburg High School in 1993. Coaching history Early career DeVries played collegiately at University of Northern Iowa, Northern Iowa. Cahokia is a settlement and former village in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States, founded as a colonial French mission in 1689. Located on the east side of the Mississippi River in the Greater St. Louis metropolitan area, as of the United States Census, 2010, 2010 census, 15,241 people lived in the village. On May 6, 2021, the village was incorporated into the new city of Cahokia Heights, Illinois, Cahokia Heights.
