2018 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming And Diving Championships
The 2018 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships were contested March 14–17, 2018 at the 37th annual NCAA-sanctioned swim meet to determine the team and individual national champions of Division I women's collegiate swimming and diving in the United States. This year's events were hosted by Ohio State University at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio. Stanford went back-to-back in national titles for the first time since 1996, and their tenth overall title. They finished 220 points ahead of California. The Cardinal scored in every single event except for the 1 meter diving and the platform diving. Stanford also became the third team to sweep all five relays at an NCAA Championship. Mallory Comerford (born September 6, 1997) is an American competitive Swimming (sport), swimmer specializing in Freestyle swimming, freestyle events. Comerford was the winner of five gold medals at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships. She won USA Swimming's Golden Goggle Awards, Golden Goggle Award for Breakout Performer of the Year for 2017. Erika Brown (born August 27, 1998) is an American swimmer. She qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in the freestyle relay and individual 100m freestyle, placing 2nd in the 100m freestyle final at the US Olympic Team Trials. Career Brown attended William A. Hough High School in Cornelius, North Carolina. While in high school she was a four-time North Carolina state champion, winning twice in the 200 freestyle and 400 free relay events. Brown would attended college at the University of Tennessee. At Tennessee, Brown earned 21 All-America honors, which included a national championship in the 4x50 medley relay, and 23 Southeastern Conference medals. The Minnesota Golden Gophers (commonly shortened to Gophers) are the college sports teams of the University of Minnesota. The university fields a total of 25 (12 men's, 13 women's) teams in both men's and women's sports and competes in the Big Ten Conference. The Virginia Cavaliers Swimming and Diving teams represent the University of Virginia in all National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Swimming and Diving Events. In 2021, the women's side won the NCAA Championship, a first for any Atlantic Coast Conference team, and finished in the national top 10 for a third consecutive season. The Tennessee Volunteers men's Swimming and Diving program represents the University of Tennessee located in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Volunteers are currently coached by Matt Kredich. The Texas Longhorns swimming and diving program represents The University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I intercollegiate men's and women's swimming and diving competition.
