2018 Men's Junior NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The 2018 Men's Junior Continental Championship is the eleventh edition of the bi-annual tournament, played by eight countries from 25 August–2 September, 2018 in Havana, Cuba. The top finisher at the final standing will qualify to 2019 U-21 World Championship. 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship
The 2019 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship was the twentieth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship, contested by the men's national teams under the age of 21 of the members of the FIVB, the sport's global governing body. The tournament was held in Riffa, Bahrain from 18 to 27 July 2019. 16 teams from the 5 confederations competed in the tournament. Players must be born on or after 1 January 1999. Iran won its first title in the competition, defeating Italy in the final. Brazil defeated Russia for the bronze medal. Amirhossein Esfandiar from Iran was elected the MVP. Qualification A total of 16 teams qualified for the final tournament. In addition to Bahrain, who qualified automatically as hosts, another 10 teams qualified via six separate continental tournaments while the remaining 5 teams qualified via the FIVB U21 World Ranking. Coliseo De La Ciudad Deportiva
Coliseo de la Ciudad Deportiva is an indoor sporting arena located in Havana, Cuba. Built in 1957, the Coliseum is one of the most important works of Cuban Civil Engineering. It is located at the intersection of Boyeros and Vía Blanca avenues in the Cerro Municipality. The capacity of the arena is for 15,000 spectators. Architecture The building was designed by Nicolás Arroyo Márquez & Gabriela Menéndez García-Beltrán of the architecture firm Arroyo y Menendez Architects. Construction of the Coliseum began in November 1952. It is a 20,000 m² circular concrete building with an outside diameter of 103.2 meters and is located at the confluence of the Vía Blanca and Avenida de Rancho Boyeros. Men's NORCECA Volleyball Championship
The NORCECA Men's Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of North America, Central America and the Caribbean, organized by the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA). Since its introduction in 1969 the tournaments have been awarded every two years.
